The differences between a router bit and a shaper cutter is quite large, and while they are both the same basic functions, methods for the use of quite large.
For a router bits from a single piece of high speed of the shaft are made to the cutter, and are designed to run at speeds up to 25,000 min rpm. The waves lie in the range of ¼ "to ½" in diameter and are on the router with a pair of pliers instead. This is only a split circular cone ring, as against the bit, squeezesThe lock nut is tightened. Some of these steel blanks form of the cutter as well, while others have the same shaft and the milling head, but with the addition of a brazed carbide tips, they are.
The high speed steel bits are cheaper, but do not last as long as the carbide-tipped bits. They are also prone to burning of wood, especially when what is taken up with them pilot bit. This is only a stub of steel jutting from the bottom of the bit, with the drive againstthe wood will be formed. This stub is pretty useless, since the amount of work required to remove the combustion is simply not worth the effort.
The carbide-tipped bit is a roller bearing on the bottom in order to follow the wood edge are formed. These bearings smoothly, and are not applied as long as too much lateral pressure at the contact point of the wood, they are no traces have been applied. When lateral pressure is applied, they will leave a small groove or a track, where they producedContact with the wood. A nice steady light pressure is all what is needed.
Bits are used without the sting or roller guide must be either in conjunction with an edge guide mounted to the router or a router table and fence. These bits are available in many sizes and shapes, and most of the applications treated wood, especially for the home wood shop.
Cutting wheels on the other hand, are much larger in the rule, and are designed for lower speeds. Either 7000 or 10000RPM's is the norm. The speed is changed by a stepped pulley system, such as a drill. The increase is due partly because they have no shaft. You have a hole in the middle of different sizes, slid over the appropriate size of the machine spindle. When buying knives, it is important to keep the diameter of the eye, or you may end up with a cutter not compatible with your spindles.
This spindle is removable, and most designers are equipped with at least oneNumber of different diameter spindles. These can also be ordered separately. Many designers are using forceps, in ¼ "and ½" configurations that allow the use of routers to.
One advantage of the cutting wheels is the ability to cutters in various configurations or guide bushings and bearings to guide and serve to add or change, the resulting cuts. Burn is pretty much a problem not as a spinning blade at a much slower speed. Uniform fittings are much easier to reachusing a power feeder, which is also constant pressure, which is key to excellent results.
