If we do a project that has the potential built up again, or if the design is hard to do something, we spend the time to build a device. This is a process that pays big dividends, and has practiced for hundreds of years. First and foremost, it is useful to the process of copying it. This prevents you take before the dimensions and construction that went into the piece.
A huge time saver. In the second case, I would ratherAn error on a piece of Plexiglas or MDF, wood rather than an expensive piece. (Not wood on trees grow to know). Mentally, it's easier to create a shape on a piece of plexiglass, or MDF, simply because it is "only a jig." Somehow, that seems to relieve the pressure. Cut the last piece you can move forward to keep on a project, because you make a mistake of being afraid. I know that sounds stupid, but it's something that I have ever experienced to do (and), on many occasions. Jigs give you theConfidence to move foward, knowing it is correct.
There is much to see how a person go from assistant mechanic overnight. The same person, the same knowledge and experience that only a new setting. They simply do not realize that she had the talent and knowledge. It is really amazing for a person to see the transformation, because they finally realized that she knew how to do it. Now we are working with confidence instead of fear. Hold second guess themselves, which leads to fewer errors. Once the template iscreated, and it is perfect, so the last piece, or clone is a breeze. The fear of failure is eliminated in the fixture.
This is especially true if they try to make a duplicate something a few years after the first. The hardest part is to remember is you have equipment for them, and where it is! Jigs can be templates, or can be a process for holding the workpiece to facilitate carving or machining. Jigs designed to keep things can be changed to the device even moreuseful. As the project progresses, new ideas come to mind that brings change in the template. It is a case for the construction of the project and the device together, as you move forward. If you do not already, you should add and make your template jig woodworking repertoire.
